Privacy policy of the website www.bitsitter.it, provided pursuant to art. 13 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679 and Legislative Decree No. 196/2003.

I - Information regarding the site's privacy policy

1. This section contains information on how Bitsitter is managed with regard to the processing of the data of Bitsitter users.
2. This information is also valid for the purposes of art. 13 of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, Code regarding the protection of personal data, and of Article 13 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679, concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, for subjects interacting with Bitsitter, and is reachable at the address corresponding to the home page www.bitsitter.it.
3. This policy is provided for Bitsitter only and not for other websites that the user may consult through links contained in it.
4. The purpose of this document is to provide information on the methods, timing and nature of the information that data controllers must provide to users when connecting to the web pages of Bitsitter, regardless of the purposes of the connection itself, in accordance with Italian and European legislation.
5. This policy may be subject to changes due to the introduction of new regulations on the matter: users are therefore invited to check this page periodically.
6. If the user is under 16 years of age, pursuant to art. 8, c. 1 of EU Regulation 2016/679, their consent must be authorised by their parents or guardians.

II - Data processing

1 - Data controller

1. The data controller is the natural or legal person, public authority, service or other body which, alone or together with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. It also deals with security matters.

2 - Data processor

1. The data processor is the natural or legal person, public authority, service or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the controller.
2. Pursuant to article 28 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679, the parties processing data on behalf of the controller are designated by the controller as data processors: in particular, the provider of the site's hosting services and the parties appointed to maintain it.

3 - Place of processing

1. The processing of data generated by the use of Bitsitter takes place at Via V. Bellini n. 1, Bari (BA), Italy.
2. Where necessary, data connected to the newsletter service may be processed by the data processor, or by parties appointed by it for that purpose, at its premises.

III - Cookies

1 - Types of cookies

1. The Bitsitter site uses cookies to make the user's browsing experience easier and more intuitive: cookies are small strings of text used to store information that may relate to the user, their preferences or the device used to access the Internet (computer, tablet or mobile phone), and are mainly used to adapt the operation of the site to the user's expectations, storing the choices previously made.
2. A cookie consists of a small set of data transferred to the user's browser by a web server and can be read only by the server that made the transfer. It is not executable code and does not transmit viruses.
3. If you wish, you can prevent some or all cookies from being saved. In that case, however, the use of the site and of the services offered may be impaired.

2 - Technical cookies

1. Technical cookies are used for browsing and to facilitate the user's access to and use of the site. They are necessary for the transmission of communications over an electronic network, or for the provider to deliver the service requested by the customer.
2. The settings to manage or disable cookies may vary depending on the browser used. In any case, the user can manage or request the general disabling or deletion of cookies by changing their browser settings. Such disabling may slow down or prevent access to some parts of the site.
3. The use of technical cookies allows safe and efficient use of the site.
4. This is a static website and it uses no profiling cookies and no analytics or tracking tools. The only cookie used, a first-party one, stores the choice made by the user on the cookie banner. The full list is set out in the cookie policy.

3 - Third-party cookies and resources

1. Depending on their origin, a distinction is drawn between cookies sent to the browser directly by the site being visited and third-party cookies, sent to the device by other sites.
2. The site does not install third-party cookies. Subject to the user's consent, the site may connect to Google Fonts to load typefaces: in that case the third party receives the IP address and the technical data of the request. Without consent the connection is not made and the site is displayed with system fonts.
3. The use of these resources is governed by the rules laid down by those third parties: users are therefore invited to read their privacy policies.

4 - Profiling cookies

1. Profiling cookies are those intended to create profiles relating to the user, used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed while browsing.
2. The site does not use profiling cookies. Should they be used in the future, the user will have to give explicit consent, pursuant to article 122 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data.

IV - Data processed

1 - Methods of processing

1. Like all websites, this site uses log files in which information collected automatically during users' visits is stored. The information collected may be the following:
   • internet protocol (IP) address;
   • browser type and parameters of the device used to connect to the site;
   • name of the internet service provider (ISP);
   • date and time of the visit;
   • the visitor's referral and exit web page;
   • possibly the number of clicks.
2. This information is processed automatically and collected in aggregate form only, in order to verify the correct functioning of the site and for security reasons. It is processed on the basis of the controller's legitimate interests.
3. For security purposes (anti-spam filters, firewall, virus detection), the automatically recorded data may also include personal data such as the IP address, which could be used, in accordance with applicable law, to block attempts to damage the site or to harm other users, or otherwise harmful or criminal activities. Such data are never used to identify or profile the user, but only to protect the site and its users.
4. Information that users of the site choose to make public through the services and tools made available to them is provided knowingly and voluntarily, releasing this site from any liability for any breaches of the law. It is up to the user to verify that they have permission to enter third parties' personal data or content protected by national and international rules.

2 - Purposes of the processing

1. The data collected by the site during its operation are used for the purposes indicated above: providing the site, security, and responding to requests sent by users.
2. The data will be retained for the period strictly necessary to achieve the purposes indicated above and in any case for no longer than 2 years.
3. Data used for security purposes (blocking attempts to damage the site) are retained for the time strictly necessary to achieve that purpose.

3 - Data provided by the user

1. The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of email to the addresses indicated on this site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, necessary to reply to the request, as well as of any other personal data included in the message.
2. Specific summary information will progressively be reported or displayed on the pages of the site set up for particular services on request.

4 - Help with configuring your browser

1. The user can also manage cookies through their browser settings. However, deleting cookies from the browser may remove the preferences set for the site.

5 - Social networks

1. This site shows the links to Bitsitter's social profiles as plain links: no social network plugins, widgets or buttons are embedded, and consequently no cookie is set by those platforms when the pages are opened.
2. Only if the user chooses to follow one of these links, the collection and use of the information are governed by the respective privacy policies of the social networks: Facebook and Instagram.

V - User rights

1. Art. 13, c. 2 of EU Regulation 2016/679 lists the user's rights.
2. Bitsitter therefore wishes to inform the user of the existence of:
   • the data subject's right to ask the controller for access to their personal data (art. 15 of the EU Regulation), their updating, rectification (art. 16), integration or restriction of processing concerning them (art. 18), or to object, on legitimate grounds, to their processing (art. 21), as well as the right to data portability (art. 20);
   • the right to request erasure (art. 17 of the EU Regulation), transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which they were collected or subsequently processed;
   • the right to obtain confirmation that operations of updating, rectification, integration, erasure, blocking and transformation have been notified, also as regards their content, to those to whom the data were communicated or disseminated, except where this proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate effort compared with the right protected.
3. Requests may be addressed to the data controller without formalities or, alternatively, using the form provided by the Italian Data Protection Authority, or by sending an email to info@bitsitter.it.
4. Where the processing is based on art. 6(1)(a) — explicit consent to use — or on art. 9(2)(a), the user has the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal.
5. Likewise, in the event of a breach of the legislation, the user has the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, as the supervisory authority for processing in Italy.

VI - Transfer of data outside the EU

1. The site does not transfer personal data outside the European Union, except as follows: if the user consents to loading typefaces from Google Fonts, the technical data of the request (including the IP address) may be processed by Google LLC. The transfer takes place on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 concerning the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC adheres.
2. Data will never be transferred to third countries that do not meet the conditions laid down by articles 45 et seq. of the EU Regulation.

VII - Security of the data provided

1. This site processes users' data lawfully and fairly, adopting appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification or unauthorised destruction of the data. Processing is carried out using computer and/or telematic tools, with organisational methods and logics strictly related to the purposes indicated.
2. In addition to the controller, in some cases the data may be accessed by categories of persons involved in the organisation of the site (administrative, commercial, marketing and legal staff, system administrators) or by external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, hosting providers, IT companies, communication agencies).

1. This document, published at bitsitter.it/en/privacy, constitutes the privacy policy of this site.
2. It may be subject to changes or updates. Where these are significant, they will be notified to users.
